Preservation New Jersey and the New Jersey Jazz Society are pleased to welcome international jazz vocalist Yvette Norwood-Tiger and her Ella Fitzgerald Tribute, À LA ELLA to the wonderful acoustics of the 1867 Sanctuary! The concert features Yvette Norwood-Tiger on Vocals, Donnie Harrell on Piano, Mauricio de Souza on Drums, John Lenis on Contrabass, and Alan Chaubert on Trumpet. Yvette Norwood-Tiger (“First Lady of Jazz South Florida”) and her jazz ensemble honors Ella Fitzgerald’s memory with Ella’s vocal styling while emphasizing intonation and storytelling in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald. Yvette bears a striking resemblance to Ella Fitzgerald and possess’ Ella’s vocal texture as well. Yvette Norwood-Tiger has performed worldwide and most recently at a famous and historic jazz venue where Ella Fitzgerald once sung – the Cotton Club in Harlem, NY. Yvette Norwood-Tiger performs her tribute concert, A`la Ella!, to sold out, standing room only audiences whom wish to recapture the experience of listening to wonderful American Songbook music from great composers including Duke Ellington, The Gershwins, and Cole Porter.
