Celebrating Our Musical Future this Monday (4/23 at 8 pm) marks Earth Day with a broadcast recording of the premiere performance of "Voice of the Lake" by American composer Margaret Brouwer, an oratorio inspired by the composer's memories, love and concert for the body of water closest to her home, Lake Erie.
The performance features the Blue Streak Ensemble, Oberlin Musical Union and the Cleveland Institute of Music's Children's Chorus.
The oratorio deals with the systematic pollution of the lake and the work to reverse and stop that destruction, with a hope for better, safer and cleaner times ahead.
